Andrew Georgakopoulos joined Belkin Burden Wenig & Goldman, LLP in 2006. He has been practicing law in New York City for over 17 years and his practice is concentrated in trial work and litigation primarily related to real estate, collection, and administrative law.
Mr. Georgakopoulos received a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University in 1985 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the State University of New York, Buffalo School of Law in 1988.
Upon graduation from law school, he became associated with the law firm of Gutman, Mintz, and Baker & Sonnenfeldt, P.C. where he remained as a real estate attorney until 1992, specializing in residential landlord/tenant and commercial contract law.
In 1993, Mr. Georgakopoulos became associated with, and ultimately a partner in the law firm of Byron Golden. In 2001 he joined Toback, Hyman & Bernstein, LLP as a partner where he continued his practice in collection, commercial real estate and education law. Mr. Georgakopoulos has represented several hotel clients in all forms of real estate matters and has successfully defended claims brought against them by guests or employees in state forums such as the Better Business Bureau and the Division of Human Rights.
Mr. Georgakopoulos is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in New York as well as the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York.
